Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued Lance Corporal Basiru Labbo and a civilian, Lauwali Dan Ada, during an offensive patrol in Zamfara State. Labbo was abducted along the Zuru–Anka highway on July 22, 2026. The Joint Task Force North-West said troops located and extracted both victims while clearing suspected terrorist hideouts. The two men were evacuated to a military medical facility for evaluation and further care. The operation is part of ongoing security efforts across the North-West.
