Harvey Weinstein Sentenced to 15 Years in New York Sexual Assault Case

Former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after a New York jury found him guilty of a first-degree criminal sexual act involving former production assistant Miriam Haley. Haley told the court that Weinstein abused his power and that the assault had a lasting effect on her life and sense of security. Judge Curtis Farber said Weinstein had failed to accept responsibility and ordered five years of supervised release after his prison term, as well as sex-offender registration. The sentence follows Weinstein's 2024 conviction reversal and retrial. He still faces resentencing in a separate Los Angeles case, where he was convicted over allegations involving an Italian actor and model.
