Jide Kosoko Says He Is in Debt After ₦300m Film Failed to Break Even
Veteran Nollywood actor and filmmaker Jide Kosoko says he is in debt after his film, “Eleko: Oba Esugbayi,” failed to recover its production cost of more than ₦300 million at the cinema. Kosoko said the project was financed by investors who expected returns. The film premiered in March, but its earnings were not enough to repay the investment, and the limited revenue was shared among those involved. He said unforeseen challenges affected the film’s performance and left him owing money to investors.
