Proverbs 21:9 and 25:24: What They Teach About Conflict in Marriage

Proverbs 21:9 and Proverbs 25:24 contain nearly identical warnings about living with a quarrelsome spouse. The verses show how constant conflict can make a home emotionally exhausting, regardless of its size or comfort. Although these passages speak of a “brawling woman,” destructive behaviour can come from either spouse. Persistent arguments, criticism and turning every mistake into a fight can make a partner withdrawn, less communicative and more likely to seek support outside the marriage. The Bible encourages self-examination, repentance and change. Through prayer, studying God’s word and a sincere willingness to change, couples can work towards peace, understanding and healthier communication. What lessons do you take from these verses?
