ADC Blames Tinubu as Fadahunsi’s Viral Remark Raises Osun Election Fears
The African Democratic Congress has blamed President Bola Tinubu for comments made by APC Senator Francis Fadahunsi, saying they have heightened fears of political intimidation ahead of Saturday’s election in Osun State. ADC National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi said Fadahunsi may have been encouraged by Tinubu’s earlier remark that “all is fair in politics.” He argued that such language could embolden political actors to cross acceptable limits in their pursuit of power. A viral video showed Fadahunsi addressing APC supporters in Ilesa with words widely interpreted as urging violence against members of the Accord Party. The senator later said he meant supporters should defeat Accord through votes, not physical attacks. The Osun State Police Command questioned him over the remark, which he said had been misunderstood.
