Opposition Must Show Nigerians a Clearer Plan for Governance

Nigeria’s opposition parties must do more than list the failures of the ruling party as campaigns gather momentum. They should present practical policies that show how they would improve the economy, security, jobs, education, healthcare, electricity, agriculture and the cost of living. Promises of cheaper food, lower taxes, stronger currency and better security mean little without a clear plan for funding and implementation. Nigerians should demand detailed manifestos, measurable targets and honest explanations of which current policies opposition governments would retain, change or scrap. Political competition should be a contest of credible ideas, not insults, ethnic mobilisation or misinformation. Candidates seeking power must defend their records with facts and show voters how their proposals would deliver real results.
