NPFL 2026/27: Rangers Open Title Defence Against Katsina United as 3SC Host Inter Lagos

Defending champions Rangers will begin their 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League title defence at home against Katsina United on Sunday, 30 August, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu. The Flying Antelopes won their ninth league title last season and will aim for a strong opening result. The season begins two days earlier, on Friday, 28 August, as Shooting Stars host newly promoted Inter Lagos at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan. Inter Lagos will be making their first appearance in the Nigerian top flight after gaining promotion from the Nigeria National League. Other Matchday One fixtures include Rivers United versus Plateau United, Kwara United versus Kano Pillars, Niger Tornadoes versus Enyimba, and Bendel Insurance versus Warri Wolves.
