Tinubu Appoints Former DSS Chief Yusuf Bichi as NISS Governing Board Chairman

President Bola Tinubu has appointed former Director-General of the Department of State Services, Yusuf Magaji Bichi, as chairman of the Governing Board of the National Institute for Security Studies in Abuja. The appointment takes effect from October 22, 2026, for an initial four-year term under the National Institute for Security Studies Act. Bichi succeeds another former DSS chief, A.A. Gadzama. Bichi led the DSS from September 2018 to August 2024. The institute said his intelligence and security administration experience would support its oversight, research and professional training for personnel across Nigeria’s security sector.
