Atiku, ADC Seek to Amend Suit Challenging Tinubu and APC’s 2027 Eligibility
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the African Democratic Congress have asked a Federal High Court in Abuja for permission to amend their suit challenging President Bola Tinubu and the APC ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The suit alleges that a forged NYSC discharge certificate was submitted to INEC. Atiku and the ADC said they need to correct the names of some INEC forms, provide clearer exhibits and state the alleged fraud more specifically. Tinubu and the APC have asked the court to dismiss the case. They deny submitting a forged certificate and argue that the plaintiffs have not produced evidence from the NYSC to support the forgery claim. The court is scheduled to hear the matter on September 28.
