Oyo Seeks Public Evidence on Oriire School Abduction as DSS Clears Suspect
The Oyo State Government has asked residents, community leaders, civil society groups, security agencies and other stakeholders to submit memoranda to the Judicial Commission of Inquiry investigating the abduction and killing of pupils and teachers in Esinele and Yawota, Oriire Local Government Area. The panel will examine the circumstances of the attack and assess the security response before, during and after it. The government said its findings would guide measures to improve protection for schools and vulnerable rural communities, especially along border areas. Meanwhile, the DSS has released carpenter Mustapha Marwana after weeks of investigation reportedly found no evidence linking him to the attack or to Ansaru. Security agencies have appealed for credible information that could help identify and arrest those responsible.
