Peter Obi, Umeh Call for Lasting Honour for Late Gen. Obiakor

Peter Obi, Senator Victor Umeh and other dignitaries paid their final respects to retired Lieutenant-General Chukwukadibia Isaac Obiakor at his funeral in Awka. They urged governments to create lasting ways of recognising Nigerians who served the country with distinction, especially members of the security services. Obi said meritorious service should be met with dignity and appreciation. The late general’s family described him as a disciplined and modest man whose life should remain an example to younger generations. They appealed for his contributions to Nigeria and humanity to be preserved beyond funeral tributes.
