Anambra Police Arrest Three Armed Robbery Suspects, Recover Arms and Stolen Tanker
The Anambra State Police Command has achieved a major operational success with the arrest of three suspected armed robbers and cultists in Ogidi, Idemili North. Rapid Response Squad officers detained Francis Chukwuka Anene (46), Emmanuel Obi (29) and Okoye Chinonso (35) – the last allegedly a serving security agent. Investigators recovered two locally made Beretta pistols, four rounds of live 9 mm ammunition and a forged security ID. In a separate raid, Ozubulu division personnel recovered a stolen trailer tanker abandoned on the Onitsha–Owerri Expressway. The vehicle had no registration number or key. Police are tracing its owner and probing the circumstances of the theft. Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu reassures residents of the command’s commitment to public safety. He urges citizens to continue providing credible information to aid ongoing investigations.
