Trump Administration Revokes Over 300,000 US Visas as Immigration Rules Tighten
The US State Department says the Trump administration has revoked more than 300,000 visas since President Donald Trump began his second term in January 2025. The figure is up from more than 175,000 revocations reported in August. A State Department spokesperson said the government has a zero-tolerance approach toward visa holders accused of breaking the law, committing fraud or threatening national security. The administration has also made some legal immigration routes more difficult through higher work-visa fees. It is expected to take further action against some visitor-visa holders who have applied for asylum, working with the Department of Homeland Security.
