Did Adam and Eve Sin Before They Knew Good and Evil?
Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil before they understood the difference between good and evil. If they did not yet know what was good or evil, how can their action be described as sin? They were told not to eat the fruit, but did they fully understand the moral weight of disobedience? Genesis 3:6–7 says the woman saw that the tree was good for food, pleasing to the eye and desirable for wisdom. After both of them ate, their eyes were opened and they realised they were naked. How do you interpret this passage?
