Kogi Woman Allegedly Set Ablaze by Husband Pleads for His Forgiveness
A woman receiving treatment after an alleged domestic violence attack in Lokoja, Kogi State, has reportedly appealed for her husband to be forgiven. Police arrested the husband over an allegation of attempted culpable homicide. The incident reportedly occurred at Oworo Estate in Felele on August 14, after an argument over clothing escalated. According to preliminary police findings, the suspect allegedly fetched petrol from his motorcycle and set his wife ablaze. A clergyman who visited her in hospital said she was stable and that she had appealed for her husband’s pardon. He also said the man is a teacher, not a pastor, and called for a mental health evaluation and separation while the case is addressed.
