Three Arrested in Bauchi Over Alleged Witchcraft-Related Killing of 51-Year-Old Man
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested three suspects over the killing of 51-year-old Monday Chiroma, who was accused of witchcraft in Dandango. Police said Chiroma and another resident, Yelwa Bango, were allegedly attacked by a group that blamed them for the illness of 20-year-old Jamila Anthony. Jamila later died while receiving treatment at a hospital in Bauchi. Both men were taken to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital. Chiroma was confirmed dead, while Bango was treated and admitted. The arrested suspects are Danjuma Anthony, Ayuba Anthony and Christopher Adamu. Police said the suspects confessed during interrogation. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, while efforts continue to arrest other suspects said to be at large.
