Amapakabo: Abia Warriors Must Beat Unbeaten Rivers United to Revive Title Push
Abia Warriors coach Imama Amapakabo says his side must defeat Rivers United in Sunday’s NPFL Matchday 8 clash in Aba to reduce the gap between them and the league leaders. Rivers United are second on 15 points, one point behind defending champions Rangers International, and remain unbeaten this season. Abia Warriors have taken eight points from their opening seven matches and are seeking a response after losing 3-1 to Rangers. Amapakabo said his team are working on the defensive weaknesses exposed in that defeat. He expects a different tactical approach against Rivers United, who he described as defensively strong and dangerous on the counter-attack.
