While Christians faced restrictions at some holy sites in Jerusalem, believers in Tehran, Tabriz and Urmia still gathered openly for Palm Sunday. I observed that even amid sanctions and regional threats, these communities continue to celebrate their traditions in public. Their presence challenges the common image of uniform religious repression. It raises a question: are we reacting to facts or to narratives shaped by fear? For decades, fear has been a powerful tool in global politics and selective media coverage. I’m not defending any government. I’m urging us to look deeper and question the simple, one-sided stories we’re told.
