Gunmen Assassinate Lagos NURTW Organising Secretary on Ikorodu Road

Mr Toba Ajiboye, the Organising Secretary of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, died after being shot in an ambush by unknown gunmen. The attack took place on Sunday night as he returned from his childhood neighbourhood in Fadeyi. Witnesses say his white vehicle was riddled with bullets along the Ikorodu Road corridor before the assailants fled the scene. Although initial reports indicated he survived with injuries, Ajiboye later died while receiving treatment. His passing has plunged the Lagos council of the union into deep mourning. Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle, the state council chairman, described Ajiboye as a loyal and dependable ally whose contributions will not be forgotten. Police have yet to comment on the motive or identify the attackers.
