Super Eagles winger Nathan Tella featured for Bayer Leverkusen as they suffered a 3-0 Bundesliga defeat away to Hoffenheim. Tella made his third league appearance of the season, while fellow Nigerian forward Victor Boniface was an unused substitute. Andrej Kramarić opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 76th minute after Edmond Tapsoba brought down Fisnik Asllani. Alexander Prass added a second in the 89th minute before being sent off for a second bookable offence. Despite playing with 10 men, Hoffenheim completed the win in stoppage time through Max Moerstedt.
