NCFRMI Says 50,000 Nigerian Refugees Returned Home in Three Years
The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons says it has returned about 50,000 Nigerian refugees from abroad over the past three years. The commission says it is also supporting more than 6.7 million displaced people across Nigeria, including those living in camps and host communities. It recently received 1,400 Nigerians repatriated from South Africa. According to the commission, it is expanding skills training, farming programmes and education for displaced families. It also says it is developing a stronger data system for migrants, refugees and internally displaced persons.
