Nigerian Army Begins 2026 Promotion Examination for Captains in Jos

The Nigerian Army has commenced its 2026 practical promotion examination for 259 officers seeking promotion from Captain to Major in Jos, Plateau State. The Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, Major General Peter Malla, said the assessment would be conducted fairly and strictly under the revised Nigerian Army Charter for Promotion Examinations 2022. He urged candidates to remain disciplined and focused, stressing that success in the examination is essential for career advancement. The exercise is designed to assess officers’ readiness for future command, staff and tactical responsibilities. The 3 Division Nigerian Army said security and administrative arrangements had been made to support a smooth examination process.
