One Dead, Two Injured as Truck Overturns and Triggers Multi-Vehicle Crash on Kara Bridge
A man has died and two others were injured after a truck overturned on Kara Bridge, inward Mowe-Ibafo, in the early hours of Friday. The crash also caused severe traffic disruption along the busy corridor. LASEMA said its response team arrived at the scene around 5:46 a.m. after reports of a truck blocking the road. The truck, loaded with bags of monosodium glutamate, was found lying on its side and had blocked about 75 per cent of the carriageway. Preliminary findings suggest brake failure caused the driver to lose control. The impact led to a secondary crash involving four other vehicles, including a Toyota Sienna, a mini truck carrying paint, a flatbed truck loaded with imported plywood, and another loaded truck. An adult male was recovered from beneath the overturned truck and confirmed dead at the scene. His body was handed over to the Federal Road Safety Corps, while the two injured men received treatment at the scene.
