Private Jet Makes Emergency Landing in Abuja After Door Opens Mid-Air
A Triton Aviation CL60 aircraft made an emergency landing at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, after a door opened shortly after take-off on Thursday. The aircraft was heading to Lagos when the crew declared a Mayday while climbing about three nautical miles from the airport. Air traffic controllers directed it to return to Abuja, while fire and medical teams were placed on standby. The jet landed safely on Runway 22 about 14 minutes after the distress call. Officials later confirmed that the door was missing from the aircraft’s fuselage. The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau has deployed investigators to examine the incident. The number of passengers on board has not yet been confirmed.
