Akwa Ibom Police Arrest Four Suspects, Including 70-Year-Old, in Attempted Murder Case
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested four men in Oruk Anam Local Government Area over alleged attempted murder, malicious damage and cult-related activities. Spokesman DSP Timfon John said officers acted on a petition and credible intelligence during an operation on March 20 at Ikot Asukpong village. Investigators recovered a locally fabricated pistol and two long guns. The suspects are John Samson (45), Emmanuel Asuquo (50), Idorenyin Umoh (22) and Okon Akpan (70). Their arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the command’s efforts to curb violent crime in the state. The police assured residents that the area is calm and under control. Discreet investigations continue, and the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion.
