Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 8 Division Garrison have rescued 14 people kidnapped during an attack on Horo Birni village in Shagari Local Government Area of Sokoto State. Security personnel reportedly responded to a distress call on Tuesday and confronted the bandits as they moved the victims and livestock taken from the community. The attackers fled with gunshot wounds after troops engaged them. The operation led to the recovery of 195 cows, 84 sheep, two camels and two motorcycles. The army urged communities to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with timely information.
