Ten Customs Assistant Comptrollers-General Retire as 1,516 Officers Set to Exit by 2027

Ten Assistant Comptrollers-General have retired from the Nigeria Customs Service after completing 35 years of service. The retirees include senior officers who headed key units such as Post Clearance Audit, Tariff and Trade, Technical Services, Enforcement, ICT/Modernisation, Finance and Excise. Six Comptrollers in Zone A have also retired, including the heads of the Apapa, Lagos Free Trade Zone, Western Marine, MMIA, Ogun II and Federal Operations Unit commands. The Customs Service expects 825 officers to retire in 2026 and another 691 in 2027, bringing the projected total to 1,516 exits within two years.
