Del Potro Urges Alcaraz to Be Patient With Wrist Injury
Former Argentine tennis star Juan Martín del Potro has advised Carlos Alcaraz not to rush his recovery from a right-wrist injury. Alcaraz recently returned at the US Open after spending more than four months out of action since his last match in April. Del Potro said he spoke with the Spaniard while he was still wearing a wrist brace. Drawing on his own injury struggles, Del Potro said Alcaraz should prioritise his long-term career over rankings. He added that the gap between the top players gives Alcaraz room to recover fully without major ranking consequences. Alcaraz has won 27 singles titles, including seven Grand Slam titles, and became the youngest man to complete a Career Grand Slam after winning the 2026 Australian Open.
