Former World Boxing Champion Jorge Castro Dies at 59 After Heart Attack

Former WBA middleweight champion Jorge “Locomotora” Castro has died at the age of 59 after suffering a heart attack in Argentina. Castro’s daughter said he complained of severe chest pain shortly after returning from the bathroom during an outing with family. Emergency responders attempted CPR, but he died soon afterwards. The Argentine boxing great won 130 of 144 professional fights, including 89 by knockout. He claimed the WBA middleweight title in 1994 with a split-decision win over Reggie Johnson.
