Former Nigeria international Ifeanyi Udeze has criticised the Super Falcons’ reported failure to qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, describing it as unacceptable. Nigeria reportedly lost 2-1 to South Africa in Thursday’s play-in after goals from Thembi Kgatlana and Rediloe Jane gave South Africa a two-goal lead. Christy Ucheibe scored a late penalty for the Falcons, but it only reduced the deficit. Udeze said missing the World Cup ticket was more painful than failing to win the WAFCON. He blamed overconfidence and a lack of unity, while insisting the team has talented players.
