Katsina Health Workers Suspend Warning Strike After Government Pledges
Health workers in Katsina State have suspended their seven-day warning strike after the state government pledged to address concerns over salaries and allowances. The suspension followed a meeting between representatives of the Assembly of Health Care Professionals and Governor Dikko Radda. The workers are to resume full clinical and administrative services across public health facilities. The government also agreed to reopen negotiations on the Consolidated Health Salary Structure, professional allowances and the CONHESS 10 skipping issue for eligible officers. A joint technical committee will be set up with a clear timeline to resolve the outstanding issues, including hazard, call-duty and shift-duty allowances. The strike had been planned over unresolved salary-structure implementation and welfare concerns.
