I live in a small compound in Ikono with three other tenants. During a four-day power outage, my neighbour ran his large generator from Monday morning until Wednesday night. The noise kept me, my baby and the rest of the house awake. I begged him to switch it off at night, but he told me to buy my own generator if I could not bear the noise. When the generator later stopped after its wire developed a fault, the compound was finally quiet.
