Tinubu Signs Law Upgrading Kaduna Polytechnic to Federal University

President Bola Tinubu has signed the law converting Kaduna Polytechnic into the Federal University of Technology and Vocational Studies, Kaduna. The upgrade is expected to expand access to higher education while strengthening technical and vocational training. The development was announced on 16 October 2026 by the representative for Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Daniel Amos. Kaduna Polytechnic was established in 1956 and became a federal institution in 1991. The new law repeals its polytechnic status and formally redesignates it as a federal university.
