ECOWAS Startup Awards Opens for Nigerian Founders, Offering $65,000 in Prizes
ECOWAS has opened applications for the second ECOWAS Startup Awards, with total cash prizes of $65,000 available to eligible startups across West Africa, including Nigeria. Applications close on August 31, 2026. The programme will select 60 startups across EdTech, FinTech, HealthTech, AgriTech and food systems, CleanTech and green innovation, and tourism and travel technology. Selected founders will attend virtual masterclasses from September 21 to 25 before the final event in Abuja from September 28 to 30. Beyond the cash prizes, participants can gain regional visibility, investor access, networking opportunities, mentorship, a six-month acceleration programme and digital tools. Finalists will pitch to an independent panel of industry experts, investors and policy stakeholders. Applicants must create an account on the official ECOWAS application portal, complete the Sections A–J form and submit before the deadline. Entries will be assessed on problem-solution fit, innovation, team strength, market potential, financial viability, impact and alignment with ECOWAS priorities.
