Omisore Takes APC to Court Over Osun Governorship Primary Dispute
Senator Iyiola Omisore, the APC National Secretary, has dragged his party before the Federal High Court in Osogbo. The suit (FHC/OS/CS/261/2025) was heard on March 2, 2026. It follows his disqualification from the December 2025 governorship primary. Omisore and six other aspirants were barred for allegedly failing to produce sponsorship from five registered party members in each local government. The party screening committee cited irregularities in their nomination processes. Sources say the move aimed to favour Bola Oyebamiji as the consensus candidate. Omisore accuses Minister Gboyega Oyetola of pressuring the panel to disqualify them. “The panel report is the most ridiculous report of this year,” he said. He claims the chairman admitted Oyetola’s interference. Meanwhile, APC leaders in Ife Federal Constituency have condemned Oyetola’s imposition of Kayode Adereti as the deputy governorship candidate. They say he was picked without local input. Efforts to reach Omisore for comment have failed.
