De Boer Backs Arokodare to Thrive at Ajax With Better Service
Ajax legend Frank de Boer has urged fans to be patient with Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare, saying he has shown enough technical quality to succeed at the club. Arokodare has recorded seven goals and two assists in 11 appearances since joining Ajax on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers. De Boer believes Ajax must play to the Nigerian forward’s strengths by supplying more quality crosses and service from wide areas. The striker played the full match in Ajax’s 2-1 UEFA Conference League defeat to HNK Hajduk Split. He will hope to build on his encouraging start as he competes for a regular place in the Ajax attack.
