Three Nursing Students Murdered in Eastern Nigeria After Rejecting Advances
In early 2026, three nursing students in Imo and Anambra states were killed after refusing unwanted advances. Each case has jolted local communities and highlighted dangers female students face when setting boundaries. In Imo State, Wendy Achumba of Our Lady of Mercy College was found dead in her off-campus residence. Authorities have made arrests and investigations are ongoing. In Alor, Anambra State, award-winning student Vivian Chilaka was killed in her home. Her landlord is in custody pending further inquiry. In Nkpor, Anambra State, single mother and nurse trainee Chinasa lost her life after a rejected partner allegedly resorted to violence. Police are probing that case as well. These tragedies underscore the urgent need for student safety, healthy relationship boundaries, and community vigilance. All cases remain under active police investigation. We pray for justice and for the families to find strength and comfort.
