Ambassador Lola Akande Presents Credentials in Sweden, Pledges Stronger Nigeria-Nordic Ties
Ambassador Lola Akande has presented her Letters of Credence to King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, formally beginning her diplomatic mission in Stockholm. She is also concurrently accredited to Denmark, Finland and Norway. Akande said Nigeria would pursue practical partnerships with Sweden and other Nordic countries in trade, investment, innovation, sustainable development, peace and security. She said deeper cooperation could support economic growth, technology transfer and new opportunities for Nigerian businesses. The Nigeria Nordic Business Alliance welcomed the development, identifying technology, skills development, infrastructure, maritime development and media as areas for closer private-sector cooperation. Akande is expected to present her credentials in Denmark, Finland and Norway in the coming weeks.
