Chelsea Reportedly Consider Free-Agent Move for Georginio Wijnaldum
Chelsea are reportedly considering a short-term deal for former Liverpool and Newcastle midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum after missing out on a late move for Monaco’s Lamine Camara. The Blues are said to be looking for midfield cover following Enzo Fernandez’s reported departure to Manchester City. Wijnaldum, 35, is available as a free agent after leaving Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq. The Dutch international has extensive Premier League experience, with 217 appearances across spells at Newcastle and Liverpool. He scored 17 goals in 34 matches for Al-Ettifaq last season, but no agreement has been confirmed.
