Enyimba Coach Sees Positives Despite 2-1 Defeat to Niger Tornadoes
Enyimba began their Nigeria Premier Football League campaign with a 2-1 loss to Niger Tornadoes at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna. Aliyu Goyi put the hosts ahead from the penalty spot five minutes before half-time. Enyimba levelled the match in the 71st minute when Wonah Williams headed home, but Michael Olalusi scored seven minutes from time to seal the win for Niger Tornadoes. Enyimba coach Emmanuel Deutcsh praised his players’ fighting spirit and said there was no cause for alarm after the opening-day defeat. He added that the season is still young and the team will aim to respond positively against Doma United in their next fixture.
