Carlos Tevez Says Broken Ferguson Promise Fuelled His Move to Man City
Carlos Tevez says he joined Manchester City as “revenge” after Sir Alex Ferguson allegedly failed to keep a promise to make his Manchester United move permanent. The former Argentina striker said Ferguson assured him that United would sign him after his loan spell, but the deal did not happen. Tevez believes he was later sidelined as the club sought to lower his value. Tevez left United for local rivals City in 2009 and later won the Premier League with City. He also said criticism from former United defender Gary Neville angered him because Neville did not know the full story behind his exit.
