Court of Appeal Confirms Turaki-Backed Wole Oloyede as PDP’s 2026 Ekiti Governorship Candidate
The Court of Appeal sitting in Akure, Ondo State, has unanimously affirmed Dr. Wole Oloyede as the PDP’s governorship candidate for the 2026 Ekiti State election. The three-member panel set aside the Federal High Court’s earlier ruling that had nullified the party’s primary. The judges held that the exercise organised by the National Working Committee under Kabiru Tanimu Turaki complied with both the PDP constitution and the Electoral Act. The petition against the primary was dismissed as moot for failing to exhaust internal party mechanisms and for falling outside INEC’s timetable. With this judgment, the PDP will now enter the Ekiti poll with Oloyede as its sole candidate.
