I Am Worried About My Health After Dating a Coworker With Hepatitis B
My last relationship lasted about three years. I ended it because cohabiting with my partner and her child became stressful and financially draining. It affected my health, and I have been single for three years since then. This year, I decided to start dating again. Two months ago, I approached a female coworker and we began seeing each other. We had protected sex earlier this month. A week later, she became seriously ill and tested positive for hepatitis B. I also fell ill and went for HIV, hepatitis and other tests. My HIV result was negative, while the hepatitis result was non-reactive. I was treated for malaria and typhoid, but I was advised to repeat the hepatitis test in two months. I still feel worried about what the next test may show. She believes we are still dating, but I have been avoiding her calls because I do not know how to address my concerns or end the relationship respectfully. I like her because she is caring and respectful, but the health situation is making me afraid. I need advice on how to handle this and follow up properly with a medical professional.
