Suspected Terrorists Kill 24, Burn Homes and Shops in Kebbi Easter Raid
A report by The Bureau News confirms that at least 24 people were killed when suspected terrorists struck Debe community in Kebbi State during the Easter period. The attackers set fire to homes and shops, displacing numerous residents. Victims cut across religious lines, including members of the Catholic church, other Christian groups, traditional worshippers and Muslims. Among the dead were five Catholics, two other Christian leaders and several worshippers from traditional faiths and Islam. Properties destroyed included the catechist’s residence and 14 shops. Search and recovery efforts are ongoing, and security forces—police, military, marine units and local vigilantes—have been deployed to restore order. Community leaders are calling for urgent government action, thorough investigations and humanitarian aid for affected families.
