Five Takeaways as Super Eagles Come From Behind to Beat Madagascar 2–1

Nigeria opened their AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign with a 2–1 comeback win over Madagascar. The Super Eagles controlled much of the match, recording 55% possession, 22 shots and four big chances. Debutants Ilenikhena and Moses Usor were the standout newcomers. Ilenikhena scored the equaliser before half-time, while Usor came off the bench to score the winner minutes after his introduction. The result showed Nigeria can still create opportunities without Victor Osimhen, but it also exposed a need for sharper finishing. Despite their dominance, the Super Eagles managed only four shots on target from 22 attempts.
