Nigeria in Distress: Are Prayers Enough Without Action?
Happy Easter, everyone! After the recent events in Plateau State, I’ve been reflecting deeply as a Catholic. Every Mass, we pray the “Prayer for Nigeria in Distress,” asking God to spare our nation from chaos, anarchy, and doom. Yet year after year, the same moral, economic, and political crises persist or even worsen. This raises a serious question: are we missing prayers, or are we missing action and good governance? Prayer is vital, but should it replace practical steps? Or should it inspire us to demand accountability and take responsibility as citizens and as a Church? What do you think is really missing?
