Russia Rejects Reports of Possible NATO Attack as “Scare Stories”
Russia has dismissed US media reports suggesting it could test NATO with limited military action in the coming years. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov described the reports as “scare stories” with no basis in reality. Peskov said Moscow still prefers to achieve its objectives in Ukraine through peaceful means. However, he said Russia would continue its military operation while accusing European countries supporting Kyiv of pursuing an aggressive policy against Moscow. Russia maintains that Ukraine must withdraw from the eastern Donbas region before direct peace talks between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky can take place. The comments came after a rare meeting in Moscow between the heads of the Russian and US intelligence services, reportedly centred on the war in Ukraine.
