Tinubu Vows to Crush Boko Haram Following Maiduguri Attacks
The recent suicide and bomb attacks in Maiduguri, Borno State, have left many dead and injured. I mourn the fallen, stand with the survivors, and offer my solidarity to the people of Borno. These attacks represent the last desperate effort by terrorist elements under pressure from our brave armed forces. I commend our troops for repelling coordinated assaults on military positions and express confidence in their capacity to restore security. Last weekend, I approved additional equipment and operational support for security agencies. I have also directed senior security chiefs to move to Maiduguri and ordered emergency responders to provide urgent care for the wounded. Citizens have reminded me of my 2014 call to stop Boko Haram. As President and Chief Security Officer, I uphold my duty to defeat terrorism and ensure that no corner of Nigeria is safe for criminals. We will find them, confront them, and defeat them once and for all.
