NiMet Forecasts Three Days of Thunderstorms, Rain and Flood Risks Across Nigeria
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast cloudy skies, thunderstorms and rainfall across Nigeria from Wednesday to Friday. Morning and evening thunderstorms are expected in parts of the North, North-Central and South. Strong winds may occur before rainfall in affected areas. NiMet warned of possible flooding in parts of Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, Akwa Ibom and Cross River. Residents in flood-prone areas are urged to take precautions, secure loose items, avoid driving during heavy rain and unplug electrical appliances when necessary. Airline operators have also been advised to obtain location-specific weather reports for flight planning.
