Two-Year-Old Boy Rescued After Alleged Abduction in Cross River
Youths and local vigilantes in Ogberia Ochoro community, Ogoja LGA, Cross River State, rescued a two-year-old boy who was reportedly abducted two days earlier from Bunyia Iruan community in Boki LGA. Two 17-year-old suspects were apprehended on Wednesday, August 26. Residents reportedly tied and caned them at the village square before police intervened. Police confirmed the incident and said the suspects were taken to the Okubuchi Police Outpost amid fears of mob violence. Officials of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons were also involved in the case.
